A stellar ensemble of local artists join forces for a joyous, music-filled celebration of Charles Dickens' beloved classic. Hosted by renowned actor Ian Merrill Peakes, this filmed concert event features performances of newly arranged 19th-century English carols, original music, and readings of excerpts from Dickens' novella.

This production was available through January 3 and is no longer streaming.

Before the pandemic, we intended the world premiere of our brand-new adaptation of A Christmas Carol to be in performances right now. It was to star Ian Merrill Peakes as Ebenezer Scrooge, include 15 actors and musicians, and feature full theatrical designs, all under the direction of longtime company member David Bradley. We have postponed the staged production until 2021-2022, when we hope to welcome audiences back to our Theatre.

Filmed on a simple set in the midst of COVID, this virtual concert is its own special event—our attempt to offer some comfort and joy during this time of isolation. Many actors from our future production read Dickens’ magical words, joined by singers and musicians who perform a selection of songs that will be part of our forthcoming adaptation, as well as music that is exclusive to this concert experience. We hope you'll join us on our virtual stage this holiday season.

Always On Premium content is digitally streamed right here at PeoplesLight.org with an online account. Once purchased, virtual performances can be enjoyed by everyone in the household, anytime, any number of times while a title is streaming.
