People’s Light debut. A Philadelphia native, Lisa is a New York based actress, playwright, singer, director, producer and educator. Theatre Includes: Recently, the Michigan premiere of Dominique Morisseau’s Pipeline (Detroit Public Theatre). Other Regional Credits Include: The Piano Lesson (The Attic Ensemble), HAIR (5th Avenue Theatre) and Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Artist Repertory Theatre). NYC Theatre: World Premiere of Catherine Filloux's whatdoesfreemean? (The Tank), Broke-ology (Understudy/Lincoln Center, dir. Thomas Kail), The Flower Thief (The Red Room) and The Etymology of Bird (Summer Stage). Her award winning solo play, She Gon’ Learn was workshopped and presented at Theatre Row for the United Solo Festival, TADA! Theatre, Jersey City Theatre Center, The National Black Theatre and The New Black Fest at The Lark Play Development Center. Television Includes: Law & Order: SVU (recurring) and Citizen Baines. Awards: Doric Wilson Independent Playwright Award, Best Solo Show (United Solo Festival), Recipient of the Playwrights Initiative Fellowship at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Training: MFA (University of Washington, Professional Actor Training Program).
