February 25-March 29, 2026
By William Shakespeare Adapted by Andrew Watring Directed by Andrew Watring Leonard C. Haas Stage
A brand-new spin on Shakespeare's comedic love pentangle

A shipwreck, mistaken identities, and tangled desires set the stage for a brand-new spin on Shakespeare’s sharp and subversive comedy. Andrew Watring’s directorial debut at People’s Light sets our scene in a luxurious resort, a modern playground for the upper crust. After Viola washes ashore and disguises herself to navigate this strange new world, she quickly finds herself caught in a dizzying love triangle. As the resort’s eccentric inhabitants start to disrupt the order of things, the servants and the served collide in a riotous, romantic story of revelry and rebellion.

Revolution Shakespeare x Twelfth Night

Revolution Shakespeare (also known as RevShakes) is a small Philadelphia theatre company that wants to change the way we, as a society, see, hear, and learn from the Bard's body of work — through adaptations of all kinds and collaborative spaces. Company members (Tai Verley, Alexandra "Ra" Del and Abby Weissman) will be tabling in the lobby prior to the 7pm show with more info about RevShakes. Come by early to engage with blackout poetry and chat about why you've come to experience this Shakespeare play. Also, join Verley and Twelfth Night director Andrew Watring for an enhanced AfterWORDS post-show conversation.
