(She/her) People’s Light debut. For years Tawanna Campbell has been the Natural State’s songbird, a beacon leading the way for Arkansas’ burgeoning soul musical scene. An all-encompassing performer, her musical acumen is eclectic and dynamic, and her range of performances run the musical spectrum. From soul-stirring, down-home gospel classics, to legendary soul hits, to contemporary R&B, she’s performed at Easter sunrise services, jazz festivals and classical concerts. Tawanna has graced the stage at the Arkansas Repertory Theater in several productions, including Crowns, Sovereign, A Very Merry Motown Christmas, Footloose, Hello Dolly!, A Merrier Motown Christmas, The Amen Corner, Holiday Radio, and Ovation! 2026. She’s even provided the musical backdrop for another Arkansas gem, Academy Award-winner (and little- known songwriter) Mary Steenburgen, with whom she collaborate on several songs for Universal Records. A devoted protégé of musical luminary and veteran Broadway performer, the late Lawrence Hamilton, Tawanna gives her absolute all to guarantee an outstanding performance every time out. Tawanna is married to Alex Berry. They have 2 children: Shawn-28 and Zoei-27.
