Melanie Cotton

(She/her) People's Light: Peter Panto, Alice in Wonderland. Melanie is a proud Philly native who brings her vibrant creativity to the Greater Philadelphia area as a choreographer, director, dancer, actor, and teaching artist. With a knack for blending styles, she infuses her work with elements of clown, musical theater, improvisation, hip-hop, and street dance. Her choreography has been featured in stage productions like The Legend of Georgia McBride (Arden Theatre), This Is The Week That Is (1812 Productions), The Appointment (Lighting Rod Special), TJ Loves Sally 4Ever (Theater Horizon), among others! On the performance side, you might have caught her in In The Heights at Walnut Street Theatre, It’s My Party with 1812 Productions, The Swamp is On (Pig Iron), or Allan Kaprow’s reinvented Chicken (1962) by Alex Da Corte. Most recently, she appeared in The Play That Goes Wrong (1812 Productions) and directed This Is The Week That Is: Election Special (1812 Productions). Melanie is thrilled to return to People’s Light for her second panto, ready to bring even more magic to the stage!
