Experience a new kind of captions with WatchWord Live caption glasses at People’s Light! The glasses display synchronized captions of the dialogue, music, and sound effects directly in the wearer’s field of vision during a live performance. People’s Light is proud to have been the first theatre in the United States to Offer this technology to our audience.

What you should know...

• WatchWord Live caption glasses are programmed to listen to the performance and display the pre-programmed synchronized captions in real time, directly in your field of vision so you don't miss a moment of the action or a word of dialogue.
• Caption glasses are generally available during the last two weeks of each production, and can be added to your ticket purchase at no extra cost. You can also reserve a pair by calling or emailing the Box Office at 610.644.3500 or tickets@peopleslight.org.
• The text display is customizable. You can adjust the brightness, color, position, size, and focus of the captions.
• The glasses' frames can fit directly over most prescription eyeglasses.
• In addition to WatchWord Live caption glasses, we offer other accommodations, including assistive listening devices and ASL interpretation at select performances.
• Patrons using caption glasses should arrive at the theatre at least 30 minutes before curtain to get familiar with the technology.
• People's Light first piloted this technology in October 2019, and upgraded to the newest generation of WatchWord Live caption glasses in February 2025.
