Samuel Antonio Reyes (Sammy) has been a Philadelphia artist for over the past 25 years. Having completed his BFA in Performing Arts from the University of the Arts in 2001, Samuel was the recipient of the Cushman Acting Award and The Theater Ensemble Award. Samuel went on to study dance under the training of Ronen Koresh (Koresh Dance Co.) and Renni Harris (RenniHarrisPuremovment). Samuel danced with many local Philadelphia artists, Charles O. Anderson “Dance Theater X”, (dancer and rehearsal director) Kate Watson-Wallace, and Montazh Performing Arts Co.. Samuel also performed at the Prince Music Theatre in, “St Louis Women,” and “Pal Joey” where he assisted Myra Bazell (dance captain and assistant choreo), and was nominated for a 2002 Barrymore Award for best Choreography and Movement in a musical. Samuel toured and created for Disney’s radio and television star Raven-Symone from 2004-2006. Samuel continues to collaborate and set work on theater companies and dance companies, The Luna Theater, Cat Scratch Theater, Le Cabaret Molounge with Jeffery Marsh, Zen One Dance Collective, 11th Hour Theater Company (nominated for 2007 Barrymore Award for best Choreo for “Bombity of Errors”, and nominated in 2014 for "Altar Boyz". Samuel is current choreographer for the #1 dancing cover band called the Rocketts, at Xfinity live and all through the east coast. Samuel is an adjunct professor at Muhlenberg College and adjunct professor at Lehigh University 2015-present. Samuel has also choreographed for the Garden State Dance Festival since 2003-2008, Maryland Dance Festival 20014, choreographer for the Walnut St Theaters Education Department since 2005. Outreach artist for the Koresh Dance Company since 2003. Samuel has been a featured participant in the Koresh Artist Showcases since its inception 2007. He has choreographed for Philadelphia Film and Video, “Forman Mill’s” national commercial. Samuel is also a Professor of Dance and theater all over the tri-state area, and artistic director of his company SANBROOKA Productions.
