Fall opens with an invitation to tap into your sense of curiosity, whimsy, and the innate pull we all feel to create meaning where we can. This is an acting class that is also a looking class, a listening class, an “experiment boldly and fail gloriously” class. Company artist Susan “Sooz” McKey guides an artistic process built around spontaneity, trusting instincts, improvisation, experimentation, and cooperative story-building… all guided by her gentle trust that stories are all around us. Get in tune with your power of observation, your voice, your body, and the joy of being part of an ensemble. This is not a script-based session: imagine a playground to stretch your muscles rather than rehearsing and achieving a performance. This is the class if you need the chance to get out of your own head, connect with fellow creatives, watch something grow from nothing, or (re)discover that moments of “heart and meaning”, as Sooz calls them, are around us always. No previous experience is required: bring playfulness and openness to possibility!
