Youth Auditions at People’s Light

Young actors are invited to participate in an audition day at People’s Light. This is an open call for performers who will be entering grades 3-12 in Fall 2024 to introduce themselves to several members of the People’s Light artistic staff. Callbacks for specific productions in the 2024-25 season may follow, but young actors will also be considered for other projects currently in development outside the main season.

Students entering grades 8-12 will be seen from 1-4pm on Saturday, May 18.

Students entering grades 3-7 will be seen from 3-6pm on Wednesday, May 29.

All actors are required to prepare and present a one-minute memorized monologue. This can be a piece (or excerpt) prepared independently, or actors may use one of the text options available for download here.

Singing is not required, but actors who sing are encouraged to also prepare a song. These audition dates will not include a piano accompanist, so actors are welcome to sing a capella or to bring a pre-recorded track on their own device to sing with, as they prefer.

All actors should please bring a clear, current photo of themselves; professional headshots are welcome but not required. We encourage performers with previous theatre, vocal, and/or dance experience to bring a resume, but this is also not required.

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before your audition block to complete some simple paperwork.

We encourage young artists of all races, gender identities, abilities and body types to join us.
