Performance Lab Expectations

Performance Labs at People’s Light are our most advanced training programs, open to high school-age actors by audition only. A Performance Lab is a unique hybrid educational experience: A conservatory-style training program with People’s Light Teaching Artists to develop students' skills, from performing Shakespearean text to character building, combined with rehearsal for their role in Twelfth Night. These masterclasses will be scheduled in advance and in addition to rehearsal calls. Enrollment is required; need-based scholarships are available.

The 6-8 accepted students in this Performance Lab will all share the role of Fabian, rotating in the performance schedule to perform 1 to 2 shows per week, with a stipend paid for each performance.

Audition Schedule

Video submissions by October 5
Callbacks in October, to be scheduled

Audition Material

FABIAN actors must record a one-minute memorized monologue. We strongly recommend choosing a monologue from one of Shakespeare’s comedies, or another comic classical piece written in verse. If Shakespeare is new to you, you may prepare a one-minute comic monologue from any play that shows you to your best advantage.

We encourage performers with previous theatre, vocal, and/or dance experience to upload a resume, but this is not required.
