OVERVIEW

Work with a creative team of arts marketers to produce dynamic and engaging multimedia content. The Digital Media Assistant reports to and supports the Director of Digital Media & Graphic Design, and works closely with the full People’s Light marketing and communications team.

The position’s primary responsibilities are to create and coordinate digital content such as e-blasts, graphics, videos, and photography to support external marketing, fundraising, education, and programming communications at People’s Light. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is a must. (We work primarily in Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.) Videography and/or photography experience strongly preferred. This position requires attention to detail and excellent writing and proofreading skills; a love of language and theatre is key. The ideal candidate will be ready to jump in and tackle a variety of projects in a fast-paced, independent, and creative environment.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will not exceed 40 hours per week. Flexible work hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends. This position is in-person. (Please note that People’s Light is not accessible by public transportation.) This position is entry-level, with opportunity for advancement within the department and/or organization. Compensation is $30,000/year plus full health benefits and paid time off. After one year in the position, People’s Light will begin contributions into our employee pension plan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and create digital marketing and communications assets across all People’s Light initiatives and programming. (Examples include promotional trailers, social media graphics, and other multimedia content.)
  • Assist with upkeep of website and various social channels (YouTube, SoundCloud, etc.)
  • Act as Marketing & Communications Department’s primary photographer and/or videographer as needed.
  • Keep multimedia archives up to date and clearly organized.
  • Create and/or support the creation of marketing emails.
  • Copywriting for social media, website, and marketing emails.
  • Assist in social media management.
  • Assist in data collection and/or analysis along with entire team.
  • Attend marketing meetings and actively participate in strategic brainstorming.
  • Participate in organizational and cross-departmental meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Director of Digital Media & Graphic Design.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A commitment to Equity and Inclusion.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite required.
  • Videography and/or photography experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO.
  • Experience in email and/or social media marketing.
  • A background in graphic design or visual art is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy, and best practice.
