JOB DESCRIPTION

Full time

The Farmhouse at People's Light is seeking a passionate and experienced Banquet Chef! The Banquet Chef would be the second in command in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction. Prior experience within a professional kitchen and friendly communication are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help in the preparation and design of menus.
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation.
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule, and assess staff’s performance.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen spaces.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required. RAMP certified
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong task and time management abilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be available on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation.
