Evening: Performance 1, perhaps Spring Awakening. Sunday, February 15 Morning: Performance 2, Coffee Concert at The Wigmore Hall. Afternoon: Lunch at Drone, in Belgravia. Evening: free. Monday, February 16 Morning: "Britain Now" Afternoon: free. Evening: Performance 3, perhaps The Pitman Players. Tuesday, February 17 Morning: Private visit to the Garrick Club. Afternoon: Lunch at The Garrick Club; rest of the afternoon free. Evening: Performance 4, perhaps Twelfth Night at The Donmar Warehouse. Wednesday, February 18 All day free. Thursday, February 19 Morning: Visit to a major exhibition, lead by an art expert. Afternoon: free. Evening: Performance 5, perhaps Be Near Me. Friday, February 20 Morning: free. Afternoon: Celebrity Tea with a leading actor from one of the plays in the program. Evening: Performance 6 at The Almeida Theatre. Saturday, February 21 Morning: Critical Round-Up, a chance to compare your views to a leading London critic. Afternoon: free. Evening: Performance 7, perhaps a play in the West End. All events will be held in the Main Stage Upper Lobby at 4pm. The talks are all free but reservations are necessary. Call the box office at 610.644.3500 for reservations. October 5, 2008 The Persians: How the Play Frames History, How History Frames the Play Rosaria Munson of the Swarthmore College Classics Department will discuss the cultural and historical context in which Aeschylus wrote this play. Lee Devin, Senior Dramaturg at People's Light will be discussant and moderator. October 12, 2008 Design: Conceptualizing The Persians James Pyne, Director of Design, and Marla Jurglanis, Resident Costume Designer, will speak about conceptualizing the design of this production. Charles Brastow, Production Manager, will moderate. October 19, 2008 Adaptation: Contemporary Embodiment of the Classics Featuring Lou Lippa, People's Light Playwright-in-Residence, and Bob Hedley, Head of Playwriting in the Theatre Department at Temple University. David Bradley (writer, director and educator) will moderate. |
