For Teens (Grades 9-12)
• S.T.E.P. Our Subscription Teen Engagement Program
Artists in this age group crave greater independence, and our teen classes give them the opportunity to take on more challenging material. Building on the skills developed on our Youth core classes, teens connect with members of the resident acting company to refine their acting skills. Most summer theatre programs focus on producing plays that are already written. Our distinctive feature is that we encourage young people to be the authors of their own stories; to collaborate together and make something new. Young people are the driving force in the creative process from the first spark of an idea to the final performance. Our programs are both joyful and rigorous. They engage every aspect of our collective intelligence, imagination, and creativity. We believe that our best theatre happens when we play and work together to explore the wonderful possibilities of telling a good story that matters.

Cost: $850
Open to young people in grades 7-12 who have an interest in designing costumes, scenery, lightning, props, and sound. Participants work with our resident artists to create design elements in collaboration with our Teen Summerstage program.

This dynamic teen ensemble will write, design, rehearse, and perform an original script inspired by a play in our upcoming season. Teens work with members of the acting company and designers throughout this four-week intensive.

We do have a small number of need-based scholarships available. For an application form, please click HERE. All full scholarship requests for Summerstage must be received by March 1st. All partial scholarship requests must be received by May 1st.
