Most summer theatre programs focus on producing work that’s already written, and all too often feature a few big roles and many small ones. At People’s Light, we build our plays from the ground up so EVERYONE has a chance to shine! It’s a more challenging way to make theatre, but we believe it’s the most valuable and exciting way. People’s Light wants to ensure that EVERY child has a meaningful and memorable experience with us.
All SummerBLAST programs meet at People’s Light, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm. Before/After Care is available from 8:00am-9:00am and from 3:00pm-5:30pm.
Ages 7-9, June 19th-30th (2-week program)
Become a master of disguise, make your friends laugh, and save the world! Explore the wacky comedy of Tom Angleberger’s Fake Mustache through music, movement, and improvisation, and create a new play you’ll perform for family and friends.
Ages 10-13, July 17th-28th (2-week program)
What are the stories in your family? What stories do you want to rewrite? What do you want the world to know about you? Artists in this program will enhance skills in acting, improvisation, communication and observation. The two weeks will culminate in an original play inspired by the questions: Who am I? and Where do I belong?

1 week - $350
2 weeks - $600

This four-week program for teens will focus on improvisation, devising, stage combat, and rehearsal techniques. Each week is designed as a stand-alone experience, but all four weeks will connect thematically with Romeo and Juliet.

Enrollment is limited to 20 students per week.
*Students age 13 may enroll with permission of the Producer for Arts Discovery Programs.
